Venerated Voices™ Q3 2019 Rankings

Advisor Perspectives, a leading publisher serving financial advisors and the financial advisory community, has announced its Venerated Voices awards for commentaries published in Q3 2019. Rankings were issued in four categories: The Top 25 Venerated Voices by Firm and Author, the Top 10 Venerated Voices by Commentary, and a new category, The Top 25 Venerated Voices by Firm and Author by Count (minimum twelve posts annually, three per quarter).

The most popular topics in Q3 among all commentaries were related to a pending recession, the federal debt burden and speculation. Other popular topics included volatility, oil and behavioral investing.

Leading the Top 25 Venerated Voices by Firm category was Pring Turner Capital Group of California in first place, followed by Nevins Research in second. In third place was Mauldin Economics.

Among individual commentators, the most-widely read was Martin Pring of Pring Turner Capital Management. In second place was Daniel Nevins of Nevins Research followed by John Mauldin of Mauldin Economics in third place.

The most-widely read commentary of Q3, published on July 19, was Recession Rumbles by John Mauldin. He discussed why he believes that a recession is on its way, but not quite yet. He goes into detail about a handful of market and economic indicators that could indicate a recession is on the way.

Martin Pring of Pring Turner Capital Group took second place with Recovery or Recession? Ask the Stock Market Stupid!, published July 3. In another popular piece about a pending recession, Pring dives into the possibility of an impending recession. Like Mauldin, he also examined important market and economic valuation indicators and took a look at the equity market and a possible economic bounce.

In third place was Bloomberg Barclays Global Agg Negative Yielding Debt Market Value by Joe Becker and Derek Chen of Milliman FRM, published on July 8. In this short memo, they stressed the importance of rising negative yielding debt and the potential for future deflation.
