Few financial advisors use SEO. It’s primarily about cost but also a lack of familiarity with the benefits of SEO.
AI to the rescue.
Any financial advisor can turn their content into a powerful SEO engine without engaging an expensive consultant.
Why you should care about SEO
Here’s why you should care about SEO:
- Increased visibility: Good SEO practices help you appear higher in search engine rankings, which increases the chances of potential clients finding your services online.
- Targeted audience: SEO attracts an audience actively looking for financial advice or services, with a higher likelihood of conversion.
- Cost-effective marketing: Compared to traditional advertising, SEO is often more cost-effective, especially when you implement it using AI.
- Enhanced credibility: Higher search engine rankings may be perceived as an indicator of trust and authority.
- Competitive advantage: By implementing effective SEO strategies, you stay ahead of competitors who may need to leverage SEO more effectively.
Traditional barriers to DIY SEO
In the past, DIY SEO was not realistic. It was too complicated and labor-intensive for most advisors.
The main hurdle was the importance of keyword research and optimization. Both are critical to effective SEO for these reasons:
1. Keyword research
a. Relevance: Proper keyword research helps identify terms and phrases users search for when seeking information or services related to a financial advisor's expertise. Incorporating these keywords into your content ensures it’s relevant to your target audience.
b. Search volume: Keyword research enables you to target keywords with high search volumes, increasing the likelihood that a larger audience will find your content.
c. Improved user experience: Optimizing content with appropriate keywords makes it easier for users to find the information they need, enhancing the overall user experience.
d. Ranking factor: Keywords are a significant factor in search engine algorithms. Proper keyword optimization improves search engine rankings for relevant terms, driving more traffic to your website.
e. Competitor analysis: You can analyze your competitors' keyword strategies and identify potential gaps or opportunities..
2. Keyword optimization
Keyword optimization refers to identifying, analyzing, and strategically incorporating relevant keywords or phrases into the content you create, meta tags, and other on-page elements to improve its search engine rankings and visibility. The goal is to make the content more accessible to search engines and more relevant to users searching for specific terms related to the subject matter.
Optimization involves research, creating high-quality content, strategically placing keywords in key areas of the content, and using variations of the keywords.
Done right, keyword optimization improves a website's search engine rankings, making it more visible to potential users and driving targeted traffic to the site. It is a crucial component of any successful SEO strategy.
Most advisors aren’t aware there is something called “blog SEO.” Without knowing this, you pick a topic and write content without understanding how to drive organic traffic to your blog.
If you had a way to do keyword research and optimize blog content, the same time and effort could go into creating blogs with a high SEO score and attracting targeted traffic from Google searches.
It’s not easy to achieve a high SEO score. You need to research keywords, check search intent (to see if there’s demand for the blog post you are writing), incorporate content users are searching for in a format they prefer, and use subheadings that draw readers to your blog.
Then optimize your blog for SEO by including a keyword in the title, meta-tagging, adding links, and taking many additional steps.
If you do it right, your blog will have a high SEO score and attract traffic.
An AI solution
Think of https://seo.ai/ as GPT 4.0 on SEO steroids. There are other platforms, but I limited my research to this one because my SEO partner recommended it.
It’s an AI-driven SEO platform that streamlines the process of optimizing your website for search engines. With its intuitive interface and advanced algorithms, seo.ai offers a wide range of features to help you improve your online visibility. Here are some of its features, implemented through a user-friendly interface:

Here’s an example of a blog I created using seo.ai.
I briefly described the blog's focus (women investors in transition) and entered it into the “brief” section. I added the target audience, asked for the blog to be written “professionally,” and designated the content as a blog post.
I then created a report which gave me recommendations for semantic keywords, search intents, titles, subheading recommendations, and an optimal word count target.
I received a list of 40 keywords. The search intents provided topics for subheadings, which gave me the topics I should incorporate.
I learned that the average competitor word count for similar articles was 1,600.
I got title suggestions ranked by SEO score. I selected the one with the highest ranking: Empowering Female Investors in Times of Transition.
The platform was now ready to generate content. I asked it first to suggest subheadings. Here’s what it recommended:
I. Introduction: Understanding the challenges of female investors in transition.
II. The Importance of Financial Planning During Transition.
III. Investing Strategies for Female Investors in Transition.
A. Dealing with Job Loss
B. Coping with the Death of a Spouse or Loved One
C. Navigating Divorce
IV. The Power of Networking and Support Groups for Female Investors in Transition.
V. Conclusion: Empowering Women Investors in Times of Change
Using those subheadings gave me an SEO score of 31%, with a target of 71%.
The platform will generate the entire blog using whatever keywords you include. You can keep editing it until you reach your targeted SEO score.
When the blog is created, the platform will create a meta description for you.
You’ll have to edit the blog to check for accuracy, update it and insert hyperlinks. I typically rewrite most auto-generated blogs, but I find the outline useful. Knowing that my blogs have a high SEO score is a significant benefit.
Do you still need an SEO consultant?
While AI-driven SEO platforms are powerful tools that help improve your search engine rankings, an experienced consultant can offer a personalized, proactive, and comprehensive approach to optimization that may be difficult to replicate with AI-powered tools alone.
But using a tool like seo.ai should improve the visibility of your blogs and attract more traffic.
